The project is a historic understudy of the journey of fabrics amongst local artisans of different races of the world. The project replicates the journey of different fabrics through local artisans on the silk route, on the Indo-Pacific route, from India to Europe, and vice versa throughout colonization and along the African continent. The journey began from my home country India, where I get to meet local artisans and understand the processes of creating indigenous art working with varied fabrics like khadi, cotton, jute, silk, pine, etc. I am also traveling to different countries along the silk route, Indo-Pacific, Africa, and Europe to understand and learn their methods on similar fabrics. The aim of the project is to find similarities and dissimilarities amongst the design elements of their indigenous methods and study the impact as an outcome of an anomaly, on the fabrics. The project also seeks to find the influence of the ethical values of different races to be established as colors, layers, and textures in their methodology and handling.Less More
